2022 Miami Open: Laslo Djere vs. Arthur Rinderknech Tennis Pick and Prediction

2022 Miami Open: Laslo Djere vs. Arthur Rinderknech Tennis Pick and Prediction

TennisSection previews the 2022 Miami Open as Laslo Djere takes on Arthur Rinderknech in the Round of 128 on Thursday, March 24th, 2022.

Will Laslo Djere get the win? Will Arthur Rinderknech pull off the upset? This will be a very fascinating one, where we have a tight matchup with two players who can play some big time tennis on their day. Who will triumph and win the 2022 Miami Open?

Laslo Djere hasn’t had the best results as of late, but he’s been able to take it to a couple of good players, most notably as of late in Acapulco, where he served for the set against Tsitsipas before losing in a tiebreaker, and then forcing a 2nd tiebreaker in the 2nd set. He can hit really well, but he does prefer the slower surfaces, his opponent in Arthur Rinderknech will like the quicker courts in Miami, and while Djere may be a slight form favorite, this one is anyones to take at the 2022 Miami Open.

Arthur Rinderknech, like Laslo Djere, has been handed some bad losses by some of the top players on the ATP Tour lately, with his only good run so far being in Doha, where he made a run to the last four. Doha definitely is a quick court, so we know that Rinderknech will be pretty well accustomed, and I definitely think he’s the slight favorite coming into this one if we go by the conditions, but you never know with guys around these rankings who are all so close together. Let’s see if Rinderknech can strip together some more good results at the 2022 Miami Open against Laslo Djere.

Laslo Djere and Arthur Rinderknech have met once before, with Laslo Djere leading the head to head 1-0. Their one meeting came on the clay, with Djere barely taking it in 3 tight sets. Djere is more of a slow hard court player, while Rinderknech definitely enjoys the clay and is able to migrate nicely to the more traditional low bouncing and quick courts. It will likely be a tight one, but I do think Rinderknech will draw on some of his great success last year to move through to the Round of 64 at the 2022 Miami Open.
