Lorenzo Musetti hasn’t been fully living up to expectations as of late. I think he has a really nice game, although he could definitely work on his service and his aggressive forehand. I do think he has a lot of room for improvement, and that he is very talented. I don’t think he’ll be improving in time for this match though, and Giron has really been playing some consistent tennis this season. He drew Nadal down under, but he went deep in a tournament in the States and in Acapulco. Musetti on the other hand doesn’t have many results to show for his talent, let’s see if he can manage to stay in this one as he aims to take down the in-form Giron to move through to the Round of 64 at the 2022 Indian Wells Open.
Marcos Giron has been playing some great tennis, and I do expect him to take down Lorenzo Musetti to continue his solid form. He doesn’t have as complete of a game, but he is able to play much more consistently. Don’t get me wrong, at his best, Musetti will win handedly, especially since it’s such a slow court. I just don’t see Musetti being able to bring his top level though, which he often fails to do. Let’s see if Giron can get a nice win and move on to the next round of the 2022 Indian Wells Open.
Lorenzo Musetti and Marcos Giron have never met before, with this being their first career meeting. I think Musetti plays a game that, when he’s at his very best, which I think we’ve definitely yet to see from him, can beat most guys on the ATP Tour. Having said that, he can’t keep it up, so the most I’ll give him is a set since I think he matches up well against Giron, but you cannot ignore recent results, and Giron is definitely the favorite here as he aims to grab a place in the Round of 64 at the 2022 Indian Wells Open.
