He is the big favorite to get the win here over Kamil Majchrzak, and will like his chances to reach his first ATP Final.
Kamil Majchrzak is unseeded here at the 2022 Pune Open and is the 95th ranked player in the world. He is coming off a very impressive three set win over young sensation Lorenzo Musetti, and his confidence will be very high after a fantastic start to the year. Majchrzak won all of his matches at the ATP Cup, and has a solid 7-1 record on the season. While he is the underdog here in his match against Emil Ruusuvuori, he has the game to push his opponent, and should definitely not be counted out.
This will be the second meeting between the two players, with Emil Ruusuvuori leading the head to head 1-0. They played last year at the US Open, with the Finn winning in four close sets. I expect a similarly close match here at the 2022 Pune Open, with both men in cracking form and capable of winning. However, Ruusuvuori has just a little bit more upside than Kamil Majchrzak, and on this surface will have just enough firepower to get by. It will very likely go the distance but expect Ruusuvuori to win, moving on to the Final here at the 2022 Pune Open.
