Will Alexander Bublik get the win? Will Arthur Rinderknech pull off the upset? This will be an interesting one, where we have a very talented player taking on a tough first test. Who will move on to the Round of 16 at the 2021 Stockholm Open?
Alexander Bublik has not been playing at the level that he would like to be playing at at the moment, however, in this first match here he definitely has a shot to get through. He’s been slowy improving, finally snapping his losing streak last week beating a top tier player. If he is just able to serve consistently, then I definitely think he will take down Arthur Rinderknech, but his serve has just been very unreliable. Considering it’s his greatest weapon, he will have to try and get a very high first serve percentage, if he is able to do that, then I expect him to get this first win in the bag and progress to the Round of 16 at the 2021 Stockholm Open.
Arthur Rinderknech has had a couple good wins this year, showing off his talent on multiple occasions. To pull off the upset over Alexander Bublik is not out of his reach, and I do expect him to push Bublik simply due to his inconsistency in the last few months. Still, he hasn’t been playing a ton of high level tournaments, while Bublik is steadily improving his level back to what it was in the first half of the season. I expect Bublik to start to serve better, and play better in general as a result, let’s see if Bublik can get the win and move on to the next round here at the 2021 Stockholm Open.
Alexander Bublik and Arthur Rinderknech have never met before, with this being their first career meeting. There’s nothing too special about this matchup here at the Stockholm Open, but Rinderknech has been playing in the challengers pretty often, while Bublik is still a top 40 player in the world despite not playing like it lately. Bublik is a very easy-going guy, so to not have the confidence or to get incredibly nervous is not like him, it really just depends on how he’s playing which is a great advantage to have. Let’s see if Bublik can get his serve back to where it once was and move on to the Round of 16 at the 2021 Stockholm Open.
