TennisSection previews the 2021 Queen’s Open as Jannik Sinner (3) meets Jack Draper (WC) in the Round of 32 on Monday, June 14th 2021.
Will the local lad, Jack Draper, be able to shock everyone and beat one of the best youngsters on the ATP Tour over the last year? Will Jannik Sinner continue to perform highly as he continues to rise up the ranks and make a name for himself as the future of tennis? This will be a good indication of where Jannik’s game is on grass as we didn’t see him play on grass in his ATP Tour career before Wimbledon at the end of the month.
Jack Draper is a very unknown player on the ATP Tour, solely focusing on the ITF tournaments where he is actually able to compete against similar competition. Jack Draper is 19-years-old and he is ranked 309th in the world, and unfortunately unless he will have a great breakthrough later on in his career like Aslan Karatsev, I don’t see him making a name for himself in the ATP Tour any time soon. Jack does not have the dedication, consistency, or game level required to compete with the best in the world, and he will face a tough fact as he meets a same aged opponent in Jannik Sinner here at the 2021 Queen’s Open.
Jannik Sinner is just continuing to impress this year on the ATP Tour, most recently making his way to the Round of 16 at the 2021 French Open where he lost to Rafael Nadal. Jannik is 19th in the world in the rankings at his young age, and he has such a good playing style, reminiscent to Novak Djokovic at a young age. Jannik will want to make a bigger name for himself by showing us what he can do on grass courts as he has never played on this surface on the ATP Tour, and he will have a good opponent to dominate against in Jack Draper in the Round of 32 here at the 2021 Queen’s Open.
Jannik Sinner and Jack Draper have never met before, with this being their first meeting on the ATP Tour. Although they are the same age, they are complete opposites in terms of talent, skills, determination, and work-ethic. Jack is not going to become a mainstay on the ATP Tour any time soon in my opinion, and his career will be focused on the ITF and Challenger Tour where he can definitely be competitive. Jannik Sinner is the future of the ATP Tour and he will show us that here in the Round of 32 of the Queen’s Open as he will win this match in straight sets.
