Novak Djokovic leads Karren Khachanov 8-1 in their head-to-head. Despite a very dominant head-to-head lead, Khachanov won the infamous 2018 Paris Masters final, in which Khachanov had an incredible run to the title. Djokovic matches up with Khachanov very well though, and despite two players in excellent form clashing, Djokovic will still be the clear favorite heading in.

Novak Djokovic dispatched Juan Pablo Varillas in straight sets, his most clean performance of the tournament so far and an ominous one at that as the 17-time quarterfinalist heads into this contest against Karen Khachanov who is entering his third straight major quarterfinal and attempting to make his third straight semifinal. Djokovic leads their head-to-head in Grand Slams 2-0, including a win here in Roland Garros several years ago. Khachanov will love these slow conditions against Djokovic as opposed to a quicker surface, as he can use his massive power to take over some of the baseline rallies. Out of anywhere they could play, I think this is the toughest Khachanov that Djokovic could face. However, Djokovic’s clay court prowess is legendary, and I can’t see Khachanov all of the sudden getting out of a tough matchup, so I definitely expect the 3rd seed to move through to the semifinals, but not without a bit of a fight.
