Alexander Bublik and Macros Giron are tied up at 1-1 in their head to head. Interestingly enough, Giron took out Bublik in Rome last year in a 3-setter. Bublik has adjusted to the clay this year though, and I suspect the surface will favor him more.

Alexander Bublik has been playing some great clay court tennis, pushing eventual Rome semi-finalist Casper Ruud to a third-set tiebreaker. He’s been playing well, and the conditions in Geneva will really support him at its high altitude. With his massive serve, Bublik could definitely make a deep run here, and I expect him to kick it off with a solid win over Marcos Giron. Giron certainly prefers the hard courts, and with the way Bublik’s serve will dictate the match, I find it hard to think the American will have too much of a chance at the 2023 Geneva Open.
