Daniil Medvedev vs. Alexander Shevchenko Preview
Will Daniil Medvedev get the win? Will Alexander Shevchenko pull off the upset? This will be an interesting one, where we have the 2nd seed looking to move through. Who will triumph and move through to the quarterfinals at the 2023 Madrid Open?
Daniil Medvedev played a solid opening match, cruising through as he has done for most of the 2023 season. Although clay is not his best surface, at his best he’s still one of the best players in the world on this surface, particularly in these conditions where the court plays faster and his big serve can help him out. Let’s see if he can take down Alexander Shevchenko and book his spot in the Round of 16 of the 2023 Madrid Open.
Alexander Shevchenko has a tall task ahead of him as he must take on 2nd seed Daniil Medvedev if he wants to stay in the tournament. Shevchenko certainly won’t be able to defeat Medvedev unless he plays at his very best and the World No. 3 is below par. I can’t see the latter happening though as Medvedev looks ahead to the final sixteen at the 2023 Madrid Open.
Daniil Medvedev vs. Alexander Shevchenko Prediction and Pick
Daniil Medvedev and Alexander Shevchenko have never met before, with this being their first career meeting. Medvedev will be happy with his prospects for this tournament, with a nice draw ahead of him, and in some of the best form we’ve seen in his career behind him he’ll be looking to carry on his momentum into the Round of 16 here at the 2023 Madrid Open.
