Alexander Zverev has had a promising few tournaments on his road back to top form after his injury. Despite a disappointing loss in Miami, some of that can be attributed to physical issues he was having as opposed to his play. As he returns to the clay, he’ll know that at his best he is one of the top contenders for every tournament he enters. He’s only going to get better from this point, and I expect him to start making good results on the clay here at the 2023 Monte-Carlo Masters.

Alexander Bublik is no fan of the clay, and although Alexander Zverev is certainly weakened from his top form, he still comes in as a very heavy favorite, particularly on this surface. Bublik will have to hope that Zverev isn’t feeling his best, or else he has no chance to outplay Zverev from the back of the court on such a slow court. Let’s see if the German is able to get off to a good start and move through to the Round of 32 of the 2023 Monte-Carlos Masters.
