TennisSection previews the 2023 Indian Wells Masters as Daniil Medvedev takes on Alexander Zverev in the fourth round on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.
It will be an Indian Wells Masters blockbuster on Tuesday when a red-hot Daniil Medvedev looks to sink his teeth into Germany’s Alexander Zverev. Who will reach the quarterfinals?
Daniil Medvedev vs. Alexander Zverev Match Preview
Daniil Medvedev locks horns with Alexander Zverev in the fourth round of the Indian Wells Masters. Medvedev of course was pushed by Ilya Ivashka in his previous match, which saw his 18-set winning streak come to an end. Granted the Belarusian is not in great form for a while now, he forced Medvedev to push the reset button and raise his level, and all credit to him because not many players can do that.
No doubt that Alexander Zverev will be Daniil Medvedev’s first big test at the 2023 Indian Wells Masters. Since the draw was made we hoped this matchup would come to fruition because these two have gone to war against each other in some of the biggest matches on the ATP Tour. Let’s hope Tuesday’s clash will live up to the billing.
Daniil Medvedev vs. Alexander Zverev Prediction and Pick
Daniil Medvedev and Alexander Zverev are tied at 6-6 in their head-to-head, with their last meeting being the ATP Finals championship match in 2021 which Zverev won in straight sets. Right now though, it is highly unlikely the German will forge a repeat of that result. He is still working his way up in the rankings after his ankle injury and he is still short of match sharpness. Medvedev is the ATP’s in-form man in the past two months and we cannot see anything but a comfortable win for the Russian superstar as he guns his first Indian Wells Masters title.
