While a very scary name to be facing, Bautista Agut certainly has his number, and it could continue as so for quite a while. If RBA wants to win this match, he’s going to have to attack Medvedev on the crosscourt forehand exchanges, but Medvedev may have the answers, especially if he continues to serve well here at the 2022 Astana Open.

Daniil Medvedev and Roberto Bautista Agut have met five times before, with Roberto Bautista Agut leading the head to head 4-1. While not every meeting has come in the best stage of Medvedev’s career, RBA obviously has his number. He knows how to play him, but Medvedev has definitely changed as a player since some of these meetings, and managed to get a win over him this season in Halle. While this one could get very tough, I still expect Medvedev to get himself back into shape with a solid win over the Spaniard to book himself a spot in the last four of the 2022 Astana Open.
