US Open 2022: Frances Tiafoe vs. Marcos Giron Tennis Pick and Prediction

He followed up a Semi-Final showing in Atlanta with a run to the Quarters in Washington, and while he lost early in both Montreal and Cincinnati they were both in three setters to good opponents. With his big serve and firepower he is capable of going toe to toe with the very best on this surface, and you can be sure that the crowd will be behind him here. He has been handed a tricky draw against fellow American Marcos Giron but enters as the solid favorite here.

Marcos Giron is one of the more solid players from the baseline and is a tricky opponent to play against. He moves very well and has a never-say-die attitude, which make him difficult to beat. However, where he tends to fall down is due to his lack of firepower, and he struggles to win free points. He will have to hope that current opponent Frances Tiafoe is not striking the ball well, since he will definitely struggle to keep up if that happens. Another bad sign is that he enters the US Open in poor form, going 1-4 in Main Draw matches since Wimbledon.
