Taylor Fritz got a very good win over Baez, taking him down 6-1 6-1, serving incredibly well and not leaving any room for error. As he comes up against Nick Kyrgios he’ll be perfectly aware of the dangers he presents, and he’ll have to be returning very well if he wants to move through here. I really like Taylor from the back of the court these days, and with the support of the crowd behind him, I can absolutely get behind the American to pull this one off as he looks to move through to the Round of 16 at the 2022 Cincinnati Open.

Nick Kyrgios got a tough win over Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, 7-5 6-4, but he still got it done in straights, playing some entertaining tennis. He wasn’t at his best, but that’s perfectly normal and I expect him to be motivated for this spicy encounter with Taylor Fritz. It’s a tough matchup for him, since Taylor serves so well but can also go toe to toe with Nick’s flat strikes, especially on the forehand side where he definitely has the advantage. He’ll most certainly have his stake in this contest, but it’s gonna be a tough one as he looks to somehow pull off yet another big victory and move through at the 2022 Cincinnati Open.

Taylor Fritz and Nick Kyrgios have never met before, with this being their first career meeting. While it is tougher to judge the pair having never played, they play somewhat similar games, both with very big serves and groundstrokes from the back of the court. Kyrgios has an excellent sense at the net though, and I feel like Fritz’s defense is by far his worst quality, so if the Australian wants to win here, he’s going to have to take it up to the forecourt as the two face off for a spot in the last 16 at the 2022 Cincinnati Open.
