TennisSection previews the 2022 Cordoba Open as Juan Ignacio Londero takes on Nikola Milojevic in the quarterfinals on Friday, February 4th, 2021.
Will Juan Ignacio Londero get the win? Will Nikola Milojevic pull off the upset? This will be an interesting one, where we have an unexpected matchup deeper into the tournament. Who will move on to the semifinals at the 2022 Cordoba Open?
Juan Ignacio Londero pulled off the upset on the #8 seed Martinez, setting up an easier match coming up against Nikola Milojevic, another unfamiliar name in the quarterfinals of Cordoba. I expect him to win, considering their only meeting was won by him, as well as the fact that he’s looking to be in good form considering who he beat. I still don’t think he’ll win easily though, and when two players are relatively low in the rankings like these are, the match can go either way due to many inconsistencies. Let’s see if Londero can grab the win and book his spot in the semifinals at the 2022 Cordoba Open.
Nikola Milojevic got a solid win to set up this meeting with Juan Ignacio Londero, it’ll be a tough one considering the fact that his opponent looks to be in good form. Neither player will be playing so well though that the other can’t handle it. I think it will be a close match, or it will be a rollover, and it’s definitely difficult to predict who will take this one, but simply due to those 2 factors I mentioned prior, I favor Londero to move on here at the 2022 Cordoba Open.
Juan Ignacio Londero and Nikola Milojevic have never met before, with this being their first career meeting. Their one meeting came in the qualifiers of Roland Garros in 2018, where Londero won their meeting relatively easily. Many things can change in 4 years, but considering neither of them had made considerable jumps since then and are at the same level roughly, and the fact that their match was played on clay, makes it difficult not to pick Londero as he aims to book his spot in the final four at the 2022 Cordoba Open.
