Davis Cup Finals 2021: Dusan Lajovic vs. Jurij Rodionov Tennis Pick and Prediction

TennisSection previews the 2021 Davis Cup Finals as Dusan Lajovic takes on Jurji Rodionov in the round robin on Friday, November 26th, 2021.

Will Dusan Lajovic get the win? Will Jurji Rodionov pull off the upset? This will be an interesting one, where we have one of the top Serbian stars aiming to help get Serbia off to a good start. Who will grab the first win for their country at the 2021 Davis Cup Finals?

Dusan Lajovic has got a great opportunity to help Novak Djokovic get Serbia off to a great start as he aims to get past Jurij Rodionov. Lajovic has struggled this season, but at times he has also shown his usual brilliance. He’s a very talented player, and Rodionov is a less-known player on the circuit, playing many challengers and hardly having the experience to take on a player such good as Lajovic. Let’s see if Lajovic can get through his first test as he aims to help lead Serbia to the title at the 2021 Davis Cup Finals.

Jurji Rodionov has been playing a lot of challengers, not being able to get very far. As they aim to get Austria off to a good start, they will struggle immensely. Without Dominic Thiem, they hardly have any chance against Serbia, a nation with fantastic tennis players including one of the greatest tennis players of all time and the reigning world no.1 Novak Djokovic. If Rodionov wants to upset Dusan Lajovic, he will have to hope for a miracle, as Lajovic can be inconsistent, but it is incredibly unlikely that that will happen as Lajovic aims to help get Serbia off to a great start here at the 2021 Davis Cup Finals.

Dusan Lajovic and Jurij Rodionov have never met before, with this being their first career meeting. Rodionov hardly has the experience or level to take on Lajovic, let alone challenge him. Lajovic is a talented player with a fantastic service and well balanced ground strokes. He also has an incredible touch at the net. He is getting older though and has struggled to be consistent. Still, he is the no. 33 player in the world and considering his experience and opponent, it’s incredibly unlikely that Dusan Lajovic will lose as he aims to easily storm through the early stages of the 2021 Davis Cup Finals.
