Christoper O’Connell, meanwhile, has looked in superb form, transitioning effortlessly from clay to grass and reaching his first quarterfinal with a 7-6, 6-3 win over Lorenzo Sonego. While grass suits Hurkacz, as his shots fly across the cross, O’Connell has great firepower too, and he should be in a much better position to take his chances than Watanuki.
