Anastasija Sevastova had to comeback from a set down against Marta Kostyuk in the Round of 64, beating her in 3 sets 1-6/6-4/6-3. Anastasija Sevastova should not really be losing a set so easily and forcing herself to make a comeback. Now that she meets the French Open Champion, Barbora Krejcikova, she will have to ensure she starts the match off in better fashion. If Sevastova had lost the first set in tight fashion I would see that as fine, but the fact that she lost it and it was so one-sided does not give me much confidence in her ability to go any further here at the 2021 Wimbledon Championships.
Barbora Krejcikova cruised through another match, beating Andrea Petkovic in straight sets 7-5/6-4. The first set was quite tight, but the confidence and the momentum gained by Barbora Krejcikova has given her more composure during tight moments and she was then able to get the set. Barbora Krejcikova is now on a 9-match winning streak starting at the French Open and she will want to continue this amazing run, but she will need to be at her best as she meets an underrated opponent in Anastasija Sevastova here at the 2021 Wimbledon Championships.
Barbora Krejcikova and Anastasija Sevastova have never met before, with this being their first meeting. If Anastasija had not lost the first set so easily in her Round of 64 match I would see her having a strong match here. However, Barbora Krejcikova starts matches strongly and she is consistent. Barbora will come out here in my opinion, get an early lead and then just run with the match and not let Sevastova in the lead. It might still be a 3 setter with Sevastova winning the second set, but Barbora will still win and make her way to the Round of 16 of the 2021 Wimbledon Championships.
