Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova did not have a strong start to her grass court season last week in Eastbourne, losing in the Round of 32 to Jelena Ostapenko in straight sets 1-6/3-6. Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova will want to find the same level of tennis she showed at the French Open where she finally made her Grand Slam breakthrough by reaching the Final for the first time. Anastasia will know that it is almost unachievable to do the impossible two Grand Slams in a row, but if she is able to get some solid wins under her belt early against the likes of Ana Bogdan she can build her confidence and momentum at the 2021 Wimbledon Championships.
Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Ana Bogdan have met 1 time before, with Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova leading the head to head 1-0. They met in 2019 where Pavlyuchenkova destroyed her in straight sets 6-0/6-1. I would expect another win for Anastasia who will be determined to give it her best, but I am unsure whether it will be straight sets or 3 sets. Nonetheless, Anastasia should get the win here and make her way to the Round of 64 of the 2021 Wimbledon Championships through her powerful game.
